Bischöfliches Schloss Rittersaal, Switzerland
Lighting design by Lighting design by Michael Josef Heusi
Zürich-based lighting designer Michael J. Heusi specified our Centura 40 System for a glorious baroque episcopal castle, the Bischöfliches Schloss Rittersaal, in Switzerland. Built in the 1600s, one of the most historic buildings in central Europe has comfortably embraced the contemporary aesthetic and functionality of our bespoke modular LED lighting system.
For this project, the Centura System was configured as two- metre diameter fixed-shape circular pendants. Each pendant is formed from three sections that are joined on-site, ensuring ease of handling and shipping. Because of its modular design, the Centura system can be configured into any custom shape with no limitations on scale.
The pendants have a custom powder-coat finish on the exterior of the modules to match the aesthetic of the historic hall. The internal louvres have a gold anodised finish. Wide beam lenses were used to give the required distribution. A shallow 59mm module height was specified to maximise the lit effect on the gallery of portraits surrounding the hall, and to minimise the form factor of the pendant. The pendants are dimmable via DALI. The pendants have been installed as part of a wider refurbishment of the baroque castle.
